Reverend Rhonda Harkins

Reverend Rhonda Harkins

Rhonda Harkins was born in Stockton, California, raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, and moved to the Fort Worth area over 46 years ago. A graduate of Oklahoma State University, she was attending Southwestern Theological Baptist Seminary, pursuing her Master’s in Religious Education, when she met and married Bill Harkins. They have been married for 45 years and have two married children and two grandchildren.

Having a heart for missions and children, Rhonda created some Gospel tracts which were translated in seven languages and sent out to Russia, China, India, Poland, Spain, Romania, Guatemala, and other places! In 1998, she taught 5th -8th graders at Bethesda Christian School through 2005. In 2007 to the present, she began Lighthouse Intercessors, a prayer ministry for America. Mission trips, sponsored by this ministry, went to Mexico, Israel, Romania, the Cayman Islands, and countless states, including Washington, DC!

In 2009, she was ordained by Trinity Full Gospel Churches and endorsed by CFGC, emphasizing Missions and Evangelism. Her call and passion is to pray for others and see God’s Kingdom and Gospel come to nations, especially the United States of America. This call has placed her in strategic leadership positions, for example, serving a few years as School Chaplain of Advantage Academy Charter Schools, headquartered in Duncanville, Texas.

In 2010, Rhonda was commissioned as the Prayer Chaplain of CFGC by former Executive Director Klon Kitchen and the Founder’s wife, Mrs. Jim Ammerman, where she currently serves. The CFGC Chaplains and their families have brought great joy and have been one of her highest honors. Rhonda leads a monthly Chaplain’s Communion and a weekly online worship service via Zoom. If you need prayer, please get in touch with her!

After sensing the prompting of the Holy Spirit telling him – transition, he applied to a specific position at the Albuquerque VA Medical Center and was selected as Chief of Chaplain Service – serving over 4 years in Albuquerque. He embraced the challenges of learning a new healthcare model and striving to improve the Chaplain service and faithfully lead chaplains every day. There were many wonderful and difficult moments that continue to teach him to this day. Matt was awestruck at how redeeming the care he provides is not only to our Veterans, but of his military service, and experiences.

Matt was hired into the VA National Chaplain Service in January of 2021. A few months after settling in the D.C. metro area for work at VA Central Office, he felt the Holy Spirit speaking transition, again – and reminded him of a long conversation he had with his then Endorser, Jim Ammerman. Many sacred moments listening and obeying the leading of the Holy Spirit has joined him to the incredible team at CFGC HQ in Texas!

He and his amazing bride (he definitely married up) have six wonderful children. Each child is unique and independent and loves Jesus! Matt continues to be amazed at his life thus far and is reminded to say yes to God, especially when it is hard, not ideal timing, or makes little sense in the natural realm.
